Home Insulation and Weatherization

Cleveland, Ohio area

Attics

Before:
After:

• Assessment of existing insulation material and its effectiveness
• Examination for possible structural defects
• Thermal bypass evaluation which may include thermal imaging technology
• Attic ventilation assessment

Walls

• Thermal imaging technology
• A physical, on-site evaluation to determine corrective solution
• Specializing in wood, aluminum, brick and stucco exteriors.

Crawl Spaces

The latest approved technology in process and material from the Building Performance Institute, which can include:

     Viper Crawl Space moisture membrane
Seam sealing utilizing mastic and tape
     Commercial Grade encapsulated insulation
     Spray-on two-part urethane foam.

Air Sealing

We utilize Blower Door technology to locate areas requiring attention. Thermal bypasses and pipe penetrations are sealed to prevent heat loss through the use of a two-part foam application and fiberglass insulation.

Bath Fan Installation

As part of our on-site evaluation we analyze and recommend the importance of proper fan sizing and the installation of insulated ducting to a roof termination. Bath fan exhaust ducting that ends in the attic is a leading contributor of moisture buildup in attics.

Weatherization Materials

Getting the Value for Your Money...

Everyone knows that weatherizing your house or building will save on your utility bills. But not all insulations are created equal. Cellulose insulation performs best even under the most demanding of conditions where there are extreme differences between inside and outside temperatures, as shown in this study from Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Professionally installed cellulose insulation has the BEST OVERALL VALUE of any insulating material:

  • Better comfort inside from fluctuating outside temperatures, even in the most extreme weather conditions.
  • Better seals in wall cavities, ceiling and small, hard-to-reach spaces.
  • Better protection from sound infiltration.
  • Better fire resistant properties.
Besides being a great blocker of weather and sound, our cellulose insulation is a tough fire blocker. In the manufacturing process, we treat it with specially engineered and highly effective fire retardant chemicals. The final result is an invaluable built-in safety feature that slows the spread of the fire and gives your family more time for a safer exit.
  • Studies of actual buildings regularly show that cellulose-insulated buildings may use 20% to 30% less energy than buildings with fiberglass, even if the R-value of the insulation in the walls and ceilings is identical. One reason for this is the capacity of cellulose to stop air infiltration.

In addition, cellulose is:

  • Cleaner, no jobsite waste - After the cellulose is blown in, all excess materials are vacuumed.
  • Manufactured with 85% recycled newspaper - the largest amount of post-consumer recycled content in the industry.
